About the Author

Hi there! My name is Taylor Janoski and I am a teacher turned stay-at-home mom.  I became a teacher-author in 2018 and love every minute of it!

Before becoming a mom, I taught 7th and 8th grade math in Pittsburgh, PA.  The main curriculum I used was Eureka Math. Like many of you, I spent hours preparing my classroom and lessons. Although I think the Eureka Math curriculum has some really rich content, I felt myself needing additional practice for my lower level learners. I pulled extra practice from the web for remedial groups. Now fast forward to me being a new mom. I love motherhood, and it is a LOT of work, but I really missed education. I decided to open

a Teachers Pay Teachers store. What could I make to fill this store? Yes, the practice I so desperately needed as a teacher! To summarize my first product line – practice, practice and more practice! I have a TON of supplemental worksheets for 7th and 8th grade math that are aligned to the Common Core Standards available (view resources here).  I also took the time to create word walls for each module: colorful descriptions and illustrations of key terms used!

My second product line is focused on a flipped classroom…

Why a flipped classroom? Ok, I LOVED the idea of a flipped classroom when I was teaching.  There was one problem – WHO HAS TIME FOR THAT?  I was trying to master the curriculum my school wanted me to teach.  Even if I wanted to flip that curriculum, then I would have to make videos, figure out what students would do while watching the videos, and then prepare the in-class portion.  That wan’t happening.  However, now that I have some time at home, I thought I would give it a shot.  How amazing would it be to use my OWN flipped curriculum if I decide to go back into the classroom?  I create and upload lessons regularly.  You can check out my progress here.

Just incase you’re wondering if I am qualified, I attended California University of Pennsylvania where I earned my bachelor’s degree in liberal studies.  I then earned my master’s degree in secondary education, mathematics from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.

Aside from work, I also enjoy exploring the outdoors with my husband. I have two little girls that I just adore! I am blessed to have the best of both the family and education world!
